Wall Hanging, Ceramic made from Terra Sigillata, Movement 1

The elongated lines and staccato dots in "Movement 1" evoke a musical piece that has come to life. The artist states: "Exemplifying different methods of alternative firing, I transgress the traditional and anticipated and create an individual language to my work." Utilizing the ancient Hellenistic technique of painting and covering with terra sigillata, the colors reflect the earth's natural beauty. 

Gibsh is an internationally acclaimed Israeli ceramicist whose work is exhibited and sold internationally, including in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the Land of Israel Museum in Tel Aviv. All pieces are one-of-a-kind and handcrafted in his studio in Jaffa, Israel.
