"Movement 2" is an expressive ceramic wall piece that channels the infinite energy of shifting forces and flowing elements. Crafted using the ancient terra sigillata technique, this artwork incorporates natural clay samples from Israel and beyond, creating a surface rich with depth and texture. At the center, a luminous white form emerges, its intricate lines resembling the raw imprints of nature. Sweeping strokes of warm ochre and deep charcoal carve through the composition, creating an unbroken path of movement. The artist states: "Fascination by the idea and look of terra sigillata directed me to research the history and investigate the possible use of TS in a contemporary fashion." Shamai Sam Gibsh is an internationally acclaimed Israeli ceramicist whose work is exhibited and sold internationally, including in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the Land of Israel Museum in Tel Aviv. All pieces are one-of-a-kind and handcrafted in his studio in Jaffa, Israel.
