Kolbo uses your address strictly to communication with you about your orders, respond to your inquiries, and, if you allow us, to inform you about discounts and other special events. We NEVER sell, share, or give your email address to anyone else.
We are happy to personalize items for a wedding, bar/bat mitzvah, confirmation, and other occasions. Some of the personalizable products that we carry, such as breaking glass keepsakes, bulk kippot, and "Kudos" by Karla Gudeon, are available online. For a complete offering, please visit us in store or call us at (800) 238-8743. Personalized items cannot be returned or exchanged.
If it is a one-of-a-kind item, then yes. Otherwise, there may be some slight variations from piece to piece. Items hand-made from wood will show the unique knots of the tree; Jerusalem stone will show the veins of the rock. This is the nature of handmade items and presumably the very reason you have chosen the item over something mass-produced in a department store.
Yes and no. Some of our pieces come framed by the artist, in which case the piece is sold how it arrives to us — already framed. However, some artists send us their pieces unframed. In this case, we can work with you to select a frame that matches your taste and your price range. If we have the piece framed and in stock, we will send you a photo of the piece as it is currently framed. For more information, please visit our framing policy page, or call the store and we will be happy to discuss your options with you.
We're constantly getting in new items into the gallery; not every item will make it onto the website immediately. Please stop by the store or call us for an even wider selection of unique and handmade goods.
We understand that diving into thousands of years of Jewish culture and practice can be daunting. We're here to help! We've created a Jewish glossary which covers a lot of the basics relating to the Judaica we sell. If you have any specific questions, feel free to give us a call or come by and talk with us in person.
You should be able to order and pay for any item directly through the website. Ordering certain items, like a ketubah, may benefit from a pre-purchase conversation with one of our experienced staff members. Please do not hesitate to call us for assistance or guidance with any order. We are also happy to take your order by phone at 800-238-8743.
Kolbo offers gift cards in denominations from $18 - $500. They make an excellent gift if you can’t decide what to choose. Better yet, they never expire.
It’s fast, easy, and fun to create a registry. Select the items you need to create a meaningful Jewish household or that are just beautiful to display or wear. Our website has an easy to use registry mode that allows you to select items for your registry as easily as you add items to your shopping cart. Just click here to begin to explore.
Once you are logged into your account on the website, click “wishlist” at the very top of our page. Create a wishlist with whatever title you’d like or view ones you’ve already created. Add a specific product by clicking the link “add to wish list.”
Your shipping cost is easy to calculate. It is only $9.95 for an unlimited number of items shipped to the same address in the same order within the continental United States. The only exceptions are large works of framed art and special orders (such as ketubahs, breaking glass keepsakes, kippot, etc). We try to ship internationally as economically as possible; please contact us for costs. Please see our full shipping policy here.
We try to keep our merchandise in stock and ship it within 24 hours of an order. Your purchase should normally arrive within 5 – 7 business days. If we run out of an item but can obtain an additional one within a short time, we will send it along as soon as possible. As most of our items are handmade, we may not always be able to obtain another one right away. If that happens, we will let you know.
If we can’t ship it within a reasonable time, we will contact you. If you need a particular item to arrive by a specified date, please include that in the comments field on the checkout page. We will do everything we can to meet your need.
In a nutshell: we want you to be happy and satisfied with your purchase. You can return any item for a refund of the purchase price (less our nominal shipping cost) within 30 days of receipt and you can exchange an item for another item or a store credit within 60 days of receipt. Please see our Return and Exchange policy for details.
We try to package items for shipping very carefully to insure they will arrive in perfect condition. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, an item arrives damaged. If it happens, please save all the packaging, labels, packing material, etc and call us as soon as possible. We need all these items initially to receive reimbursement from the shipper. We will do our best to get a replacement to you as soon as possible.
Mazel tov! At Kolbo, we’re here to step you through every aspect of the ketubah ordering process. You can find our guide to the ketubah process here. If you have any further questions after looking at the guide, please give us a call at (617) 731-8743 or (800) 238-8743.
