Artist Stephanie Caplan grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and currently lives in the East Village of New York. She draws on the energy of the city, as well as her academic background in Judaism and art history, to create ketubahs that combine art and ritual in new and surprising ways. This ketubah design was inspired by a Yemenite ketubah dating back to 1794. The artist used this design as a starting point, adding soft neutral shading and delicate linework to create a piece of art that complements the calligraphy of the text itself without detracting from the beauty of the hand lettering. A traditional motif with a surprisingly modern feel, this ketubah shines with refinement and elegance.
