Karla Gudeon, a former teacher, came to her art career later in life when she chose to pursue her passion for hand-colored engraving and watercolor. Karla is inspired by illuminated manuscripts and folk art, and artistically portrays her own core values: family, culture, strong women, an open-minded world view, and the natural world. The Tree of Life - Version II Ketubah showcases a vibrant tree at its center, heavy with ripe fruit, pomegranates, colorful leaves, and even a pair of bluebirds. It stands beneath a moonlit sky that glistens with stars, while below rests the text itself, bordered by deep purple irises. This piece combines themes of abundance, blessing, tranquility, and mystery as only Karla Gudeon knows how.
