Danny Azoulay is a Jerusalem artist with a passion for creating high-design papercut ketubahs that both honor the past and carry meaning and tradition into the future. He calls the ketubah “a couple’s first family heirloom" and is mindful of this responsibility as he creates beautiful, architectural pieces to grace the home for years to come. The Hadas Ketubah is named after the myrtle branch, whose delicate leaves encircle the text of this beautiful piece. In Jewish tradition, the aromatic myrtle represents adaptability, eternal strength, and good deeds. Simple and modern, this ketubah is set off by an expressive swish of gold leaf, as well as a gold and blue rendering of the Hebrew phrase, “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine." Small touches of rich blue and red enrich the design, bringing interest and the echoes of ancient illumination to the classic and clean design.
