The dove has existed as a Jewish symbol since the tale of Noah's Ark, in which a dove flew with an olive branch in its mouth to signify a new era of peace after the great flood. The bird goes on to be referenced in Jewish literature as a symbol of hope, purity and the Jewish people. Bostonian sculptor Nancy Schon represents the dove in shining bronze, her preferred medium for decades. This sculpture comes on a rotating marble base to be displayed at any angle.
