Since 1976, artist Miriam Karp has been creating vibrant, unique ketubahs. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Indiana University in Bloomington and has been awarded two National Endowment for the Arts awards for her paintings. Author Anita Diamant featured Karp in her book, The New Jewish Wedding. You can find her artwork in private and public collections in the U.S. and abroad. Simple and striking, the Copper Arabesque Ketubah encircles the ketubah text with a bold yet delicate medallion border of scrollwork and swirls. The pared down color scheme and crisp line-work focuses all the attention on the artistry of the design and the calligraphic text at its center. The phrase "Ani l'dodi v'dodi li," "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine," finishes this piece in English and in Hebrew.
