Since 1976, artist Miriam Karp has been creating vibrant, unique ketubahs. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Indiana University in Bloomington and has been awarded two National Endowment for the Arts awards for her paintings. Author Anita Diamant featured Karp in her book, The New Jewish Wedding. You can find her artwork in private and public collections in the U.S. and abroad. The Blue Quilt Ketubah is a stunning example of Karp's work with color and texture. Concentric borders frame the ketubah text, alight with shades of blue, purple, deep red, and turquoise. Geometric shapes fit together in a glowing mosaic, with no piece or pattern exactly alike. This design symbolizes the beauty created when two people join their lives together, bringing their own unique viewpoints and experiences to create the new whole.
