Since 1976, artist Miriam Karp has been creating vibrant, unique ketubahs. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Indiana University in Bloomington and has been awarded two National Endowment for the Arts awards for her paintings. Author Anita Diamant featured Karp in her book, The New Jewish Wedding. You can find her artwork in private and public collections in the U.S. and abroad. In the Mountain Stream Ketubah, artist Miriam Karp plays with one of her signature techniques: incorporating the ketubah text into a landscape painting worthy of its own frame. In this design, a couple stands beneath a wedding canopy, surrounded by majestic trees and mountains. A brook flows down from the mountains above, surrounded by wildflowers. The border quote reads: "My beloved spoke and said to me: rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For now the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth. The time of singing has come." (Song of Songs)
