Roses Ketubah

Ayala Ben-David created expressive, vibrant works of art inspired by her life on a kibbutz in the Negev desert in the South of Israel. Her work often plays with contrast and symbolism, texture and realism. The Roses ketubah is a unique design for Ben-David, utilizing a single graphic motif to wonderful effect. Luxuriant roses twine around the text from the bottom of the frame, which is crowned by an arch accented by the phrase, “Ani l’dodi v’dodi li", “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine" in English and Hebrew. This simple design is rich and impactful, showcasing the artist’s love of color and dimension.
