  • English translation reads: “A woman of valor who can find? Her value far exceeds that of gems. The heart of her husband trusts in her he lacks no gain. She treats him with goodness, never with evil, all the days of her life. She searches out wool and flax, and works willingly with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, she brings food from afar. She rises while it is still night, gives food to her household and sets out tasks for her maids. She considers a field and buys it, she plants a vineyard by her own labor. She girds herself with strength and performs her tasks with vigor. She realizes that her enterprise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night. She sets her hands to the distaff and her fingers grasp the spindle. She gives generously to the poor and extends her hands to the destitute. She does not fear for her household in the frost for her entire household is dressed in crimson. She makes her own tapestries, her clothing is of fine linen and purple. Her husband is prominent at the gates as he sits among the elders of the land. She makes cloth and sells it, and offers a girdle to the merchant. Strength and dignity are her garb, she looks smilingly to the future. Her mouth is full of wisdom and the teachings of kindness are on her tongue. She watches the conduct of her household and never eats the bread of idleness. Her children rise and acclaim her, her husband he praises her. Many daughters have done worthily but you surpass them all. Grace is deceptive and beauty is naught. A G-d fearing woman is one to be praised. Extol her for the fruit of her hands and let her deeds land her at the gates.”
