Artist Howard Fox of Carkor, Israel, is originally from Canada and invites his diverse life experiences to inspire and inform his work. Fox is known for a unique artistic style that he calls "Fiction" — the weaving of realism and imagination. This intricate and arresting style is evident in all his work, including his collection of distinctive ketubahs. The Tree of Life Ketubah features a thick border brimming with delicate scrollwork and depth of color. Like painted silk, intricate golden borders contain shades of royal blue, green, and pink Twin stars of David frame a dove of peace and a biblical harp. The text is crowned by a lush tree, containing the word "Chai," or life, while below two Shabbat candles are framed by an arched window.

The Hebrew words around the border are from the seventh blessing said during the wedding ceremony:

"[Blessed are you, God] who creates happiness and joy, groom and bride. Exultation, delight, amusement, and pleasure, love and brotherhood, peace and friendship. Soon, Lord our God, may the sound of happiness and the sound of joy and the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride be heard."

The phrase centered around the tree of life reads "Ani l'dodi v'dodi li:" "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine."
