Artist Howard Fox of Carkor, Israel, is originally from Canada and invites his diverse life experiences to inspire and inform his work. Fox is known for a unique artistic style that he calls “Fiction” — the weaving of realism and imagination. This intricate and arresting style is evident in all his work, including his collection of distinctive ketubahs. The Song of Songs Ketubah showcases a thick border alive with detailed patterns and vibrant color. Micro-floral prints, arches, and concentric frames lend a Persian feel to this piece, drawing in the viewer with deep, rich colors and stunning detail. Songbirds, doves, and biblical harps nestle among the leaves and branches, and the text is crowned with a medallion bearing the words “Ani l’dodi v’dodi li,” I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.
