Artist Laya Crust uses inks and paint on paper to touch the soul of the viewer. Crust believes that each person is deeply touched or changed by what they encounter, and uses her art to initiate a spiritual conversation with the viewer. She gathers inspiration from her home in Toronto, as well as her background in fine art, calligraphy, and Judaic studies. The Arboresque Ketubah features a tree motif rendered in vibrant watercolors. The spiraling branches are wrapped in bright color and bear Jewish symbols of luck and abundance, such as bunches of grapes and the word “chai," “life". Below this magnificent tree rests the text of the ketubah, surrounded by a frame of vivid fallen leaves or petals. A beautiful, bright ketubah design full of joy and meaning.
