What is the Reform text?
The Reform texts that appear on all the ketubot vary from artist to artist. The English is a direct translation of the Hebrew (not Aramaic). This is also referred to as an Egalitarian text because the Hebrew stresses the mutual, spiritual commitments of the bride and groom whereas the classical ketubah text stresses the financial and legal commitments of the groom to the bride only. Reform texts are also commonly referred to as 'Contemporary' or 'Modern' texts.
